Mumbai-Pune Second Expressway: The second Mumbai-Pune Expressway would improve connectivity, allowing you to reach Bengaluru in 5.5 hours and Pune in 1.5 hours
Mumbai-Pune Second Expressway: The Mumbai Expressway is set to provide Maharashtra a commuter improvement as part of a significant connectivity overhaul. The state owns a number of other infrastructure projects totaling 1.5 lakh crore. According to a statement made by Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, new initiatives are intended to improve the state’s connectivity game by cutting down on travel time, increasing the effectiveness of logistics, and easing traffic congestion.

Several elevated corridors in the Pune region, a new expressway between Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and the second Mumbai–Pune Expressway are among the projects.
The Mumbai-Pune Second Expressway can now cover the distance in only ninety minutes.
The planned Mumbai-Pune Expressway 2nd would be 130 kilometers long and run parallel to the current Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The project, which is expected to cost Rs 15,000 crore to build, would reduce the 2.5–3 hour journey time to only 90 minutes or 1.5 hours.
The ghat areas, which are notorious for delays, would see less traffic thanks to the new road. According to Gadkari, the area from Pagote near JNPA to Chowk in Panvel has already been officially approved.
Bengaluru to Mumbai in Just 5.5 Hours
A communication network from Mumbai to Bengaluru via Pune would be made possible by the Mumbai-Pune Expressway II once it is open, cutting the travel duration to 5.5 hours. It is projected that the operationalization of stretch would increase travel and benefit logistic enterprises by fostering inter-city trade across western and southern India. Other advantages include tourism and the provision of emergency services.
