Mumbai Local Train Jumbo Block: In order to allow important maintenance work, Western Railway declared a mega block on the Mumbai suburban network on Thursday.

The block is scheduled to be completed between Vasai Road and Bhayandar stations on Friday and Saturday, December 19–20, 2025. Train services on the Up and Down Fast lines will be halted for five hours and fifteen minutes, according to an official statement.
While the Down Fast line will be suspended from 1.15 am to 4.45 am, the Up Fast line will be closed from 11.30 pm to 3 am. Fast line trains between Virar, Bhayandar, and Borivali will be switched to slow lines at this time. Tracks, signaling systems, and overhead equipment will all be maintained in order to guarantee dependable and safe operations. Travelers who intend to travel late at night or early in the morning are encouraged to anticipate delays and make appropriate travel plans.
An AC fast local train failed to open its doors at Dadar station during peak hours on Wednesday morning, causing annoyance to Central Railway passengers. As planned, the 10.42 am Badlapur–CSMT AC local stopped at Dadar but left without opening its automated doors, trapping a number of people inside.
Byculla, which was around 6.4 km distant, was the train’s next stop, causing passengers to overshoot their destination and miss crucial obligations. Many passengers were irritated, according to passenger Mukesh Makhija, since they could not disembark even when the train stopped at Dadar. At Byculla station, the event sparked irate scenes as people contacted railway authorities and demanded an explanation from the motorman for the disturbance.
