Maharashtra Accident News: A truck on Parol-Shirsad Road runs over a seven-year-old boy’s bike as it hits a pothole, killing him

Maharashtra Accident News: Seven-year-old Harsh Thori lost his life in a horrific traffic accident on Saturday night when a two-wheeler collided with a pothole on the Parol–Shirsad–Ambadi route. Shortly after the fall, the kid was crushed under the wheel of a large car and perished. Authorities let traffic to reroute via the Parol–Bhiwandi road after heavy trucks were prohibited from entering Thane city starting on Friday night. This choice significantly increased truck traffic on the damaged and constrained section, exacerbating traffic and posing a risk to regular commuters.

Sameer Thori, a resident of Achole Lake in Nalasopara, was riding a two-wheeler with his wife and two children to Vajreshwari for a pilgrimage when the event happened, according to the police. The bike lost balance and fell into the road near Usgaon as its wheel slid into a deep pothole in the middle of slow-moving traffic. During peak movement hours, all four family members were flung from the two-wheeler and landed on the crowded road, where they were exposed to incoming traffic.

Sadly, a large car coming from behind plowed over seven-year-old Harsh Thori as he lay critically wounded on the road, instantly killing him. Following minor injuries, Sameer Thori, his wife, and their daughter were taken to the hospital immediately. Mandvi Police Station staff arrived at the scene right away after being notified. The truck involved in the collision has been confiscated, and the driver has been taken into custody, according to Senior Police Inspector Ranjit Andhale. Additional inquiry into the incident’s circumstances is in progress, and a case has been filed.

Locals attribute the accident on the badly deteriorated roads in the Vasai–Virar area, which have been made worse by ongoing rain and inadequate upkeep. Potholes abound on the Shirsad–Vajreshwari road, a vital transportation route that sees a lot of vehicles every day. Speeding and overloaded cars increase the danger, especially for users of autorickshaws and two-wheelers. During traffic bottlenecks, drivers claim that reckless overtaking from the left has grown widespread. In order to avoid further deaths, the public is calling for tough enforcement, road maintenance, and action against reckless driving.
