Flight Cancellations:  For the last several days, heavy fog has been plaguing many northern states, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, forcing the cancellation of numerous airline services. Thousands of customers have experienced difficulties as a result of aircraft service cancellations or delays. To reduce passenger discomfort, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has released explicit rules. It said that in the event of delays or cancellations, airlines are required to provide passengers basic amenities like meals and alternative forms of transportation. DGCA Regulations Regarding Flight Delays
According to the authorities, in the event that a flight is delayed, the airline must provide the waiting passengers essential amenities. In the event of a two- to four-hour flight delay, the airlines must provide free meals. In addition, if the delay is more than six hours, the customers are entitled to a refund or other flights.

Passenger amenities include a complete refund in the event that the flight is canceled.

Compensation for not providing timely notification would range from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.

There will be food and beverages available for planes that are delayed.

For lengthier delays, lodging and transportation options will be provided.

However, the airline is exempt from providing a hotel or other amenities if the delay results from circumstances beyond its control, such as bad weather, political upheaval, or natural disasters. According to the authorities, travelers are entitled to Rs 5,000 in compensation if a flight is canceled with an hour’s delay.

Furthermore, the airline must provide substitute flights within an hour. In addition, customers who have delays longer than 24 hours are entitled to Rs 20,000 in compensation.
