Electricity – Scheduled Maintenance to Affect Bengaluru Areas
Electricity – Residents across several parts of Bengaluru will experience temporary power interruptions on February 10 and 11 as authorities undertake essential maintenance work on the city’s electricity distribution network. The planned shutdowns are part of ongoing efforts to improve system reliability and reduce the risk of unexpected technical failures. Officials have advised consumers to make necessary arrangements in advance to minimize inconvenience.
February 10: Outage from 10 AM to 5 PM
On Tuesday, February 10, power supply will remain suspended between 10 AM and 5 PM in multiple neighborhoods. The affected areas include BWSSB STP, Jakkasandra, Teachers Colony, HSR Layout 5th Sector, parts of Venkatapura, Greenage Apartments, Koramangala Extension, Chennakeshava Nagar, Hosa Road, Singasandra, Hongasandra, AECS Layout A and B Block, Huskur, Naganathapura, Koodlu, Muneshwara Layout, Doddanagamangala, Parappana Agrahara, Chikkathogur, Bellandur-2, Mahaveer Ranches Apartment, IBM and IBM D Block, Jakkasandra Extension and 1st Block, along with nearby localities.
The electricity department stated that the temporary disruption will allow engineers to carry out inspection, equipment servicing, and infrastructure upgrades aimed at strengthening supply lines in these zones.
February 10: Areas Facing 10 AM to 4 PM Disruption
In another set of localities, power supply will be interrupted from 10 AM to 4 PM on the same day. These areas include Kaveri Nagar, Hulimavu, Akshaya Nagar, Hongasandra, BTS Layout, Kodichikkanahalli, Electronics City Phase-2, Veersandra, Doddanagamangala, Chokkasandra, IBM, Guruppanapalya, Sobha Morzaria Apartments, BG Road, BTM 1st Stage, Madiwala, Maruthi Nagar, Bismillah Nagar, and adjoining regions.
Authorities explained that the staggered schedule has been planned to ensure that maintenance work can be completed efficiently without extending the duration of the outage.
February 11: Morning to Afternoon Power Suspension
On Wednesday, February 11, several residential and commercial pockets will witness power cuts from 10 AM to 4 PM. The areas scheduled for interruption include Laxmi Layout, Southcity Apartments, Kammanahalli, Shanthinikethana School, Electronics City Phase-1, Doddathogur, Bommanahalli, NJR Layout, Chikkathogur, Hongasandra, Konnappana Agrahara, and surrounding localities.
The electricity board has emphasized that the maintenance activities are part of preventive measures designed to enhance long-term stability in the region’s power infrastructure.
February 11: Extended Outage from 10 AM to 5 PM
Additionally, between 10 AM and 5 PM on Wednesday, supply will remain suspended in Koramangala and nearby areas. The affected zones include Netravathi Block, Jyothinivas College surroundings, Godavari Block, ST Bed, Judicial Block, KML Village, Kapila Block, Raheja Tower, Prestige Star Tech Park, B Nagasandra, NAL Road, SR Layout, NR Layout, PR Layout, Amarjyothi Layout West Wing, Vinayakanagar, Wing Tunnel Road, Koramangala Industrial Area 5th Block, Madiwala, Venkateshwara Layout, Chikka Adugodi, St John Staff Quarters, Jogi Colony, CAR Police Quarters, Adugodi Main Road, St Johns Hospital vicinity, Maruthi Nagar, Dollar Scheme Colony, 100 Feet Ring Road near Oracle area, BG Road, KHB Colony, Mico Layout 3rd and 7th Block, Koramangala 3rd to 6th Block, Bhuvanappa Layout, Kaveri Layout, Krishna Nagar Industrial Layout, SG Palya, Madiwala Market, Siddhartha Colony, and adjacent areas.
Officials reiterated that the temporary inconvenience is necessary to ensure a more stable and fault-free electricity supply in the coming months. Residents, businesses, and institutions have been encouraged to plan work schedules accordingly, especially those dependent on uninterrupted power for daily operations.
The electricity department has assured that supply will be restored promptly once the maintenance work is completed in each designated area.
