CRPF – Nine Personnel Injured After Vehicle Plunges Into River in Srinagar

CRPF –  Nine members of the Central Reserve Police Force were injured on Saturday after the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road and fell into a river on the outskirts of Srinagar, officials confirmed.

The incident took place along the Dagpora–Umerhair Road in the Ahmadnagar area, a locality situated on the fringes of Srinagar. According to officials, the vehicle lost balance while moving along the stretch and subsequently plunged into the adjoining river.

Local authorities said the accident occurred during routine movement in the area. The sudden loss of control led the vehicle to skid off the road before falling into the water body nearby.

Driver Lost Control of Vehicle

Preliminary information indicates that the driver was unable to maintain control of the vehicle, resulting in the mishap. While the exact cause of the loss of control has not yet been officially detailed, officials stated that there was no immediate indication of any external interference.

Emergency response teams reached the location shortly after the incident was reported. The injured personnel were promptly rescued and shifted for medical care.

Injured Personnel Shifted to SKIMS Hospital

All nine injured personnel were taken to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura for treatment. Hospital authorities have confirmed that the injured are under medical observation and their condition is stable.

Doctors at the facility are monitoring the personnel as a precautionary measure. Officials said that none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening at this stage.
