CM Pushkar Singh Dhami: Uttarakhand Approves ₹51 Crore Development Plan to Boost Infrastructure and Public Welfare
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami: The Government of Uttarakhand has taken a major step toward strengthening core infrastructure and improving last-mile delivery of welfare schemes by approving development projects worth ₹51 crore. These initiatives focus on healthcare systems rooted in traditional medicine, urban facilities, environmental management, and region-specific development commitments. Under the leadership of Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state administration aims to ensure faster execution, transparency, and measurable impact across both urban and rural areas of Uttarakhand.

Strengthening AYUSH Facilities and Institutional Infrastructure
A substantial share of the approved budget has been directed toward reinforcing the AYUSH ecosystem and upgrading key government institutions. The focus is on expanding capacity, improving storage, and modernizing facilities to meet growing demand.
An allocation of ₹25.74 crore has been approved for constructing an industrial shed and storage facility at the Rishikul Government Ayurvedic Pharmacy in Haridwar. This initiative is expected to improve large-scale production, quality control, and storage of Ayurvedic medicines, thereby supporting traditional healthcare systems.
Additionally, ₹7.44 crore has been sanctioned for the expansion of the Directorate of Ayurvedic and Unani Services building. This expansion will enhance administrative efficiency and provide better working infrastructure for managing state-wide AYUSH services.
Another significant approval includes ₹11.41 crore for the expansion, renovation, and long-term maintenance of the State Guest House, also known as the Circuit House, in Champawat. This upgrade will improve accommodation standards for officials and visitors, supporting administrative mobility in the region.
Urban Development and Modern Civic Amenities
Urban infrastructure development has also received focused attention, particularly in areas related to public safety, cleanliness, and energy efficiency.
The Nagla Municipal Council area will benefit from an investment of ₹99.17 lakh dedicated to LED and street lighting projects. These upgrades aim to improve road visibility, enhance public safety, and reduce long-term energy consumption through efficient lighting systems.
In addition, ₹15.95 lakh has been approved for the procurement of waste collection vehicles for 14 municipal bodies across the state. This move is expected to strengthen solid waste management systems, promote cleaner urban environments, and support sustainable municipal operations.
Expanding Public Outreach Through Governance Camps
To bring governance closer to citizens, ₹3.16 crore has been sanctioned for organizing outreach camps under the “Jan-Jan ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan ke Dwar” initiative. These camps will be held at Nyaya Panchayat and Gram Panchayat levels across all districts.
The primary objective of these camps is to resolve public grievances on-site and ensure direct access to government welfare schemes. By reducing administrative delays and improving accessibility, this initiative supports participatory governance and strengthens public trust in state institutions.
Local Development Projects and Regional Commitments
Several region-specific projects announced earlier by the Chief Minister have now received formal approval, ensuring balanced development across districts.
In Pithoragarh, ₹50 lakh has been allocated for developing a trekking route and fair site from Suwalekh to Chandika Ghat, promoting eco-tourism and local economic activity. The Vin area will see ₹67.45 lakh invested in constructing a trekking route from Jamradi to Rantoda Badkhet, further enhancing tourism infrastructure.
In Almora’s Salt Assembly Constituency, ₹50.68 lakh has been approved for installing CCTV cameras in main market areas to improve public safety and surveillance. Meanwhile, in Karnaprayag’s Sarkot Adarsh Gram Panchayat, ₹39 lakh has been sanctioned for proposed construction works along with solar chain-linked fencing, supporting rural infrastructure and renewable energy integration.
Focus on Timely and Efficient Execution
The Chief Minister has directed all concerned departments to ensure swift implementation and strict monitoring of these projects. The emphasis is on quality execution, adherence to timelines, and tangible benefits for citizens. Collectively, these initiatives reflect a strategic approach to infrastructure development, public service delivery, and inclusive growth across Uttarakhand.
