Volodymyr Zelenskyy: on a peace agreement after discussions with US envoys Witkoff and Kushner “Some documents fully prepared”
Volodymyr Zelenskyy: After speaking with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on Thursday (local time), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that part of the peace agreement’s papers were “fully prepared.”

Zelenskyy said in a video message on X that a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine would need the two countries to settle the “sensitive issues.”
“Organizing what we spoke about today with President Trump’s envoys is crucial. As far as I can tell, some papers are almost completed, while others are completely prepared. Sensitive problems still need addressing, of course. However, we know how to implement all of this in conjunction with the American team. The next weeks can also be busy. The president of Ukraine said, “Thank you, America.”
There are “good ideas” for the permanent peace, Zelenskyy said at a meeting with US counterparts Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner earlier Thursday, accompanied by Ukrainian envoys.
“Today we had a very good conversation with President Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff @SEPeaceMissions and @jaredkushner,” he wrote on X, thanking the US envoys. I appreciate their positive attitude, their hard work, and their kind words and Christmas wishes to the Ukrainian people. In order to guarantee that all papers and actions are practical, efficient, and trustworthy, we are really working around the clock to put this terrible Russian war against Ukraine to a halt.”
“We spoke about certain important aspects of the current project. There are positive concepts that may lead to a mutually beneficial solution and enduring peace. We all need genuine security, real recovery, and true peace—Ukraine, the United States, Europe, and all of our allies. I think the concepts we discussed and the Christmas understandings we gained today will be helpful,” he said.
Zelenskyy also wished US President Donald Trump a Merry Christmas.
Rustem Umerov, Andrii Hnatov, Andrii Sybiha, Sergiy Kyslytsya, Ihor Brusylo, and Oleksandr Bevz joined me throughout the discussion. Every member of our diplomatic team is exerting every effort. We decided that Rustem would talk to Steve and Jared again today. We think this is the best course of action—not to miss a single day or chance that might advance the outcome. I hope that today’s discussion leads to even more peace. I also urged the lads to send Donald Trump and the Trump family our best wishes for Christmas. “Thank you,” said the X post.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier wished Ukrainians a happy Christmas and denounced Russia for mounting a major strike on the eve of the holiday. He also appealed for peace.
In his Christmas message, he said, “We are happy when we hear the music of Christmas, but even happier when we do not hear the music of evil, when we do not hear drones and missiles flying overhead.”
