Trump : claims that Iran seems to have gone beyond their “red line.”
Trump: US President Donald Trump stated on Sunday (local time) that the Islamic Republic appears to be crossing a “red line” set by his administration amid the massive protests across several provinces in Iran, which had reportedly killed over 500 people. The reports of the killings, which were primarily of protestors, prompted Washington to consider what he described as “very strong options.”

In response to a question about whether Iran had crossed the line he had set over the treatment of demonstrators, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, “They’re starting to, it looks like.”
The US President said, “Those in power were ruling through violence,” alluding to the current demonstrations in the Islamic Republic.
He emphasized that the highest echelons of the US administration were keeping a careful eye on the issue. Some individuals who shouldn’t have been slain seem to have been killed. We’re taking this very seriously, but these are violent—if you call them leaders, I’m not sure whether they’re leaders or if they just use violence to control. The military is investigating it. We’ll make a decision, but we’re considering some very good choices,” Trump said.
According to a New York Times story, Trump was briefed on a variety of military options aimed against Iran, but he did not go into detail about the precise measures Washington may take.
The story claims that Trump was given the option of targeted attacks on specific locations in Tehran, including non-military facilities connected to the regime’s internal security system. As the administration assesses diplomatic, economic, and military instruments to discourage more violence by Iranian authorities, the briefings are reportedly a component of contingency preparation.
Trump previously said that the United States is prepared to assist the Middle Eastern nation, which is examining “Freedom” in a way that has never been seen before.
Trump said, “Iran is looking at FREEDOM, perhaps like never before,” in a post on Truth Social. The United States is prepared to assist.
Iran has seen widespread unrest and demonstrations about rising inflation and economic hardship in a number of its regions during the last 15 days.
Soon after, the demonstrations turned into a dramatic national upheaval that included violent altercations between demonstrators and security personnel.
At least 544 individuals were allegedly murdered during the anti-government protests, according to the Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRA) press wing, and dozens more instances are currently under investigation.
Furthermore, according to HRA, more than 10,681 people have been arrested and sent to jails, and protests have been documented in 585 places nationally, encompassing 186 cities in all 31 provinces.
Authorities used force, crackdowns, and arrests in response to the protests, which started on December 28 and expanded to many locations.
Additionally endorsing Trump, US Senator Lindsey Graham said that the “nation’s nightmare will soon be coming to an end.”Obama is not President Trump. For the long-suffering Iranian people, freedom today means freedom forever. I think the misery of your country is about to end. In a post on X, Graham said, “Make Iran Great Again.”
When asked if his administration is thinking about allowing internet access in Iran, including through Elon Musk’s Starlink service, Trump responded that discussions were underway but that no final decision had been made. In the meantime, internet services have been shut down in the Islamic Republic for the past two days. That is what we will be discussing. We may start the internet. I’m going to give Elon Musk a call so we can talk to him,” the US president said.
