“He doesn’t have anything until I approve it,” Trump said in an interview. “So we’ll see what he’s got.”

On Sunday, Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with Trump in Florida. In an effort to put an end to the almost four-year conflict with Russia, he has said that he would unveil a fresh 20-point peace proposal. Zelenskyy said on Friday that the peace plan put out by US and Ukrainian authorities is 90% complete.

A demilitarized zone and talks on US security assurances are apparently included in the plan.

Trump, meantime, is optimistic about the next summit with world leaders to put an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

“I believe it will work well with him. Trump said that he intends to talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin “soon, as much as I want,” and that he believes it will work well with him.

Trump’s remarks were made the day after Zelenskyy met with the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and special envoy Steve Witkoff. Later, Zelenskyy called the exchange a “good conversation.”

Additionally, Trump announced that Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, will be paying him a visit at around the same time.

Zelenskyy and Bibi are on their way. They’re all on their way. They all show up,” Trump said. “They respect our country again.”

Zelenskyy’s meeting with Trump will go beyond security assurances, Ukrainian officials said. According to Politico, the future administration of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and Russia’s claim to rule the Donbas area in eastern Ukraine are important topics on the agenda.

Zelenskyy had earlier warned reporters that no quick breakthrough should be anticipated, but that the meeting may assist forward peace negotiations.

According to him, both parties would concentrate on settling as many outstanding problems as they could. He said that the US and Ukrainian authorities’ suggested peace framework is almost finished.

Additionally, he emphasized that talks with Trump will focus on long-term security assurances for Ukraine and how foreign allies might support post-war stability.

Zelenskyy claimed that high-level discussions had already been decided in a post on X. “We have decided to meet with President Trump at the highest level in the near future. Before the New Year, several decisions may be made.
