South Korean: Massive explosion after the failure of a Hanbit-Nano rocket during launch at the Alcantara Space Center in Brazil a rocket blast
South Korean: On Tuesday, December 23, the South Korean space launch company’s rocket detonated at the Alcantara Space Centre in Brazil, causing it to fail. Tragically, the South Korean space launch vehicle business Innospace’s Hanbit-Nano, the first commercial space launch rocket, exploded after reaching a certain altitude.

While the launch was being livestreamed, a massive explosion was seen on camera. On December 23, Hanbit-Nano was introduced at 10:13 a.m. (Brazil local time). After the rocket had been in the air for roughly a minute, Innospace’s video abruptly ended due to a boom.
Hanbit-Nano has already delayed its introduction three times. Due to an anomaly in the cooling mechanism of the first stage oxidizer supply system, the first attempt, which was scheduled for December 17, 2025, was postponed. According to The Chosun Daily, a technical issue with the launch vehicle’s ground power supply system caused the anticipated delay on December 20.
Additionally, Innospace’s stock price fell by almost 22%. According to The Chosun Daily, this is seen as a result of the unforeseen circumstance that arose during the launch on that particular day.
