Pakistani Father-Son Gunmen : IS Flags and Explosives Found Among Pakistani Father-Son Gunmen in Bondi Beach Massacre; Startling Information Revealed
Pakistani Father-Son Gunmen : Naveed Akram, 24, and his father, Sajid Akram, 50, have been named by Australian officials as the terror suspects responsible for Sunday night’s fatal shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney, which targeted Jewish families enjoying Hanukkah. At least 40 people, including a 10-year-old child, were hurt in the assault, which has now been officially classified as a terrorist act. Five victims are still in serious condition, and the oldest casualty was 87.

According to ABC News, investigators claim that the father and son traveled to Australia’s most well-known beach with improvised explosive devices and long-arm weapons before shooting at people gathered for the “Chanukah by the Sea” celebration. Officers at the site shot and killed Sajid Akram, according to New South Wales Police, while Naveed Akram was seriously injured and is still being monitored by police at the hospital.

Naveed Akram, the shooter On Intelligence Radar Authorities said that Australia’s domestic intelligence agency, ASIO, had previously kept an eye on Naveed Akram, a newly jobless bricklayer. He was placed on a security watchlist in 2019 due to his connections to an Islamic State (IS) cell in Sydney and alleged loyalty to the terror organization, according to an Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) investigation. Police and ASIO acknowledged that while he was “known” to the authorities, he had not been considered an “immediate” danger before the incident.
Islamic State Flags and Recovered Explosives
Two Islamic State flags and explosive devices were found during subsequent searches, according to ABC News. While searching a car connected to the suspects for further explosives, police reported discovering a black-and-white IS flag inside the vehicle. Although the inquiry is still underway, investigators now think both individuals had sworn loyalty to IS.
According to New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon, Sajid Akram, a small company owner, had a valid weapons license and was the lawful owner of six guns. Numerous firearms, including long rifles often used for hunting, were found both at the site and on a property that was searched while the inquiry was underway.
Police Officers Hurt, Potential Charges
During the gunfight, two police officers were wounded; they are still in critical but stable condition. Without giving any further information, Commissioner Lanyon said that Naveed Akram may be charged with a crime based on his health.
Before the assault, the couple reportedly informed family members that they were going fishing. According to Verena, Naveed Akram’s mother, who described her son as quiet and routine-driven, she found it difficult to accept his participation, she told the Sydney Morning Herald. Authorities have described the shooting as one of Australia’s bloodiest terror strikes in decades and asked the public to stay away from Bondi Beach as counterterrorism and forensic investigations proceed.
