Muhammad Usman Haider, the former DSP Investigation Kahna, confessed during questioning on Saturday that he murdered his wife and kid after a protracted domestic argument, according to The Express Tribune, which cited police authorities.

He filed a fictitious First Information Report (FIR) at the Barki police station in Lahore after the murders, alleging that the two had been kidnapped.

According to The Express Tribune, a formal application for the filing of the abduction case was filed on October 18, however the FIR claimed that the DSP’s wife and daughter vanished on September 27.

After that, the police opened an investigation, filed a case, and suspicions grew when the victim’s sister contacted the police and said the officer could have been involved.

Later, blood samples from a bed and a door in the suspect’s home were discovered by forensic teams. Senior officers confronted the DSP during a high-level investigation after misgivings were reinforced by laboratory data.

According to The Express Tribune, a police official said, “The suspect confessed to the crime after being presented with the forensic findings.”

The corpses were later found by police in different places. While the wife’s bones were retrieved from Sheikhupura, the daughter’s corpse was discovered in the Kahna area of Lahore.

According to The Express Tribune, preliminary investigations indicate that a property dispute was the driving force behind the murder.

According to the police, the offender bought a 10-marla land in the name of his first wife and had two weddings. There have reportedly been regular arguments at home as a result of his selling the property without her approval and using the proceeds for his brother’s wedding.

According to The Express Tribune, the accused admitted to detectives during interrogation that he murdered his wife with a sharp object that has since been found.

The circumstances surrounding the little daughter’s death are still being investigated by police, who are also looking into the possibility of any accomplices.

According to authorities, the DSP’s second wife is also being investigated, and a close acquaintance of the accused has been detained for questioning.

“The accused will be prosecuted strictly on merit and punished in accordance with the law,” a police official said, according to The Express Tribune.
