The pilot and co-pilot were among the ten passengers on board, according to Adrian Hernandez Romero, the state’s coordinator for civil protection, who spoke to media. According to him, the victims have not yet been recognized.

Only seven dead had been found hours after the disaster, according to Hernandez, despite the private flight carrying eight passengers and two crew members.

According to him, the jet struck the metal roof of a local company, causing a major fire, after reportedly attempting to land on a soccer field. The collision is being looked into.

According to Xinhua news agency, the state civil protection agency posted on social media that emergency personnel are at the accident scene and asked people to avoid the area.

Toluca International Airport, a major aviation hub in the Toluca Valley, is just 5.7 kilometers away from the industrial region where the incident happened on Monday.

The accident occurred at around 12:31 p.m. local time, according to a statement from Mexico’s Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport.

San Mateo Atenco Mayor Ana Muniz Neyra visited the location and reaffirmed pleas for locals to stay away. No one on the ground was hurt, she claimed, and the plane was owned by the Jet Pro firm.
