According to people.com, the actor stated that he doesn’t want to direct during an interview with renowned director Martin Scorsese at the TIME magazine’s A Year in TIME event in New York City. He specifically stated this because he believes he could never match Scorsese’s brilliance.

I’ve been asked by some whether I want to direct. “I would never want to direct,” I say. Martin Scorsese accomplishes things that I could never do. Why would I act in such way? DiCaprio said.

The Final Battle According to people.com, another celebrity continued by saying that he did, however, wish he had stepped back during some of his previous projects and “observed” the whole filming process.

As you portray these people, you make every effort to delve as deeply as you can into their souls. Additionally, I wish I had been a lot bigger voyeur. to see your (Scorsese’s) behind-the-camera work,” he remarked.

“I would have loved to have seen that process behind the camera a lot more if I could go back in time,” he said.

The Oscar winner, who has collaborated with Scorsese on six films so far, continued by outlining their distinct creative process, adding that they have “months” of planning and deliberation prior to the start of production.

I believe that’s been our method of working together a lot. the capacity to virtually engage in a conversation for months in advance, with many questions and a great deal of debating other approaches that may not be the most apparent course of action,” he added.

“It’s been one of the most profound learning experiences, but we’re doing that on the new film that we’re doing now,” he said.

The celebrity said that one of his “proudest moments” in life has been collaborating with Scorsese.

He said, “I wanted to be an actor because I grew up watching movies very young.” “After showing me Marty’s and Mr. (Robert) De Niro’s work, my father told me, ‘If there’s anyone you want to strive to work with in your career, now that you have the capability of doing movies, it’s with this gentleman.'” I thus had the opportunity to see Marty’s work pretty early on.

Gangs of New York (2002) was the first film in which DiCaprio and Scorsese collaborated. They have since worked together on movies including Killers of the Flower Moon, The Aviator, and The Departed.

What Happens at Night, the duo’s seventh film, is now in production. In the adaptation of the Peter Cameron book, DiCaprio will co-star with Jennifer Lawrence.
