Bangladesh: As violence against minorities increases in another Hindu man is slain
Bangladesh: Another Hindu man was fatally stabbed and chopped by criminals in Daganbhuiyan upazila of Feni district, according to local media, as a troubling trend of violence against minorities in Bangladesh continues to worsen.

On Monday, the corpse of Samir Das, a 27-year-old autorickshaw driver, was found in a Bangladeshi agricultural field in the hamlet of Jagatpur.
Bangladesh’s Bengali daily Daily Manobkantha said Samir fled home in his autorickshaw on Sunday night, citing police and family members. His family started looking for him at other places after he didn’t show up late into the night.
Later, Samir’s frozen corpse was found by locals in a field in Jagatpur village, which is under the upazila’s Sadar union. Police allegedly hurried to the area after receiving the information and retrieved the corpse.
According to reports, the corpse had many knife wounds, and preliminary police investigations revealed that Samir had been transported to a remote location and brutally murdered in an effort to steal his autorickshaw.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Faizul Azim Noman of the Daganbhuiyan Police Station confirmed the event, saying, “The corpse has been retrieved and transported to the Feni General Hospital morgue for examination. There is no sign of his autorickshaw. To find and apprehend the murderers and retrieve the autorickshaw, the police have initiated a special operation.
The fact that this was the ninth occurrence in a 24-day period underscores the alarming increase in violence against Hindu communities in Bangladesh.
Earlier on January 9, India voiced serious concerns about the alarming trend of repeated attacks on minorities, particularly Hindus, throughout Bangladesh. It said that it continues to keep an eye on the situation in the neighboring nation and hopes that such acts of communal violence are dealt with forcefully.
