American media: Vance criticizes the coverage of the Minneapolis shooting by the mainstream
American media: In response to news outlets’ coverage of a fatal shooting involving an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Minneapolis, US Vice President JD Vance launched an extraordinary broadside, calling the coverage “an absolute disgrace” and cautioning that it “puts our law enforcement officers at risk every single day.”

According to Vance, he was handed “a photo of a CNN headline” and read it aloud: “Outrage after ICE officer kills US citizen in Minneapolis.” “Well, that’s one way to put it,” he said, before claiming that important facts that he felt were essential to the interaction were left out of the headline.
Vance said, “This was an assault on federal law enforcement.” “Law and order was attacked in this instance. The American people were the target of this assault. He accused “many people in the corporate media” of misrepresenting what transpired and said that he was using the term “attack” “very, very intentionally.”
“That headline ignores the fact that that exact ICE officer was nearly killed six months ago after being dragged by a car and suffering 33 stitches in his leg,” he added. “So you think he might be a little sensitive about someone hitting him with a car?”
Additionally, Vance claimed that the deceased lady was obstructing an enforcement operation. “That woman was there to obstruct a lawful law enforcement operation in the United States of America,” he added, adding that the title fails to mention.
Vance once responded angrily to a query that questioned his findings while the inquiry was still underway. “What is— I apologize, folks. What’s happening? The truth is what you guys are supposed to report. He said, “How have you allowed yourself to become propaganda agents for a radical fringe that is making it more difficult for us to enforce our laws?”
Vance said, “Look, I don’t know what it’s — in a person’s heart or in a person’s head,” when asked whether he was unsure after seeing the video. However, he went on to say, “I am positive that she broke the law,” and “that officer had every reason to believe that he was in grave danger of harm or, in fact, death.”
He distinguished between discussion of purpose and what he called an untrue story. “It’s a reasonable conversation if people want to argue that we should have a legitimate debate about what she was actually doing,” he added. “It’s unreasonable for so many of you to claim in the media that this woman was innocent and that the ICE agent killed her.”
Vance said that elected leaders, not police, should be the target of criticism. “Combat me. “Attack the US president,” he said. “Refrain from assaulting our police personnel. They are making an effort to fulfill the demands of the American people.
When questioned about his message to bring Americans together and ease tensions, Vance said that the media’s portrayal was exacerbating the situation. “This has been one of the biggest scandals I’ve ever seen in the media,” he said, adding, “I’ve never seen a case so misrepresented and — and misreported.”
He maintained that public safety and law enforcement contribute to a more temperate political climate. He described the 20 percent decrease in violent crime over the last year as a consequence of “empowering our law enforcement officers to enforce the law,” saying it was one of the things he was most pleased of.
“A media that tells the truth” is what Vance demanded. He said, “I think it’s really irresponsible for you guys to go out there and imply or tell the American people that a guy who defended himself from being rammed by an automobile is guilty of murder.” “Exert a little more caution.”
