Sadie Sink: I like to be seen as Max rather than Sadie
Sadie Sink: who rose to fame as Max Mayfield in Stranger Things, was always “resistant” to sharing personal details about herself as a child, but she is now happy that she did so because she believes it adds realism to her performances.
When I was younger, I reasoned that because there is so much public interest, maybe I should be more forthcoming about who I am. However, I was always reluctant, and now I’m very appreciative since I like to be seen as Max rather than Sadie. Sink told Australia’s ELLE magazine, “I’ve done my job if I can keep myself out of it.”
According to femalefirst.co.uk, Sink just joined Stranger Things in season two and was first concerned about blending in with the existing group.
The actress was “so emotional” when she saw parts of the film from that period because she could see how fast they had become friends.
“My mum and I were just talking about it yesterday; she showed me one of my favorite videos while we were taking a trip down memory lane,” she added.
“In the makeup trailer, I’m dressed as Michael Myers from Halloween, and the boys are all dressed as Ghostbusters. I believe a song from Tears for Fears is playing, and we’re all dancing together—that was my first day of filming.”
“I remember feeling so nervous to be there, beyond being on a huge TV show but with a group of established friends who loved each other so much, worrying about Will I fit in?, and now I see that I did,” the actress remarked, describing how she became quite emotional when viewing the footage. What a priceless video.
Sadie believes she will never really “say goodbye” to her cherished alter persona, even if “Stranger Things” is coming to an end.
“She’s such a big part of me that I don’t think I can shrug her off,” she said. I would never be able to let her go. I can get to know her without playing Max. The hardest thing was saying goodbye to the actors and the show.
