Sadie Sink : claims that “there’s so much speculation” and that fan theories existed before she was cast in “Spider-Man.”

Sadie Sink: According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Sadie Sink said that days before she formally accepted the opportunity to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, internet fan speculations speculating about her participation in the “Spider-Man” movie began to circulate.

The ‘Stranger Things’ actress revealed she first saw online rumors that she might be in the next Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, during an interview on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘The Tonight Show’. Sink recounted being taken aback by the rumors, only to discover two days later that they were true when she was asked for the position.She added, “I feel like there’s a new character every week” that people speculate she may be playing. “There’s so much speculation, too,” she remarked.

The publication quotes the Tony Award nominee as saying, “Before receiving the offer to feature in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, she saw online fan theories that she would be involved in the project.”I learned about it from internet speculations. Before I was cast in Spider-Man, there were rumors on the internet that “Sadie Sink is going to be in the new Spider-Man,” she clarified. “I thought, ‘Hmm? I am?’ Indeed, they asked me to do it two days later. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there is sometimes some truth to such ideas.

It was “crazy,” Sink added, to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly when she found out about the casting while finishing the fifth and last season of Stranger Things. She praised Holland’s depiction of the superhero and said that she was able to handle Marvel’s stringent secrecy because of her expertise keeping plot information private on the Netflix series. The movie, which was written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is slated to open in theaters on July 31, 2026.
