Regarding Matka King, Kritika Kamra states: “The wait is always lengthy when you’re involved in ambitious projects.”

Actor Kritika Kamra has assessed the quick speed of her career in the over-the-top (OTT) sector, pointing out that there will always be a lengthy delay between releases when one commits to big projects. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, she pointed out that while performers may find delays disturbing, they become understandable when working on major projects.

She said that her most recent web series Saare Jahan Se Accha was a success because of constant word-of-mouth, saying, “There’s been a bit of a wait before releases, which sometimes can be difficult for us actors.”

Looking forward to “Matka King”

Kamra is also getting ready for the next series, Matka King, which co-stars Vijay Varma and is helmed by famed director Nagraj Manjule. The drama is a genuine depiction of 1960s Mumbai, according to a previous interview with IANS, in which a cotton-trading businessman disrupts an elite system and creates the gambling game “matka.”

“You want the public to see your effort, particularly after a lengthy wait. But that’s the problem with working on large-scale initiatives. You are aware that there would be a lengthy wait,” Kamra said.

Prioritizing quality above speed

Kamra consciously chooses to take her time and choose her roles wisely. She told the publication, “I can’t complain because that’s how I like it, and the growth has been slow and steady for me.”

For me, the progress has been gradual, and I can’t complain since I also like it that way. “I intend to stay in this for the long run,” Kamra said.

She said that big explosions and narrative twists aren’t always required to tell an engaging tale; sometimes, sincerity and simplicity are enough.

“I want to continue doing this for a very long time. The actress said, “I want to make decisions that I am truly confident in, and I don’t mind if they take some time to get me the gratification.”

Digital channels have gradually replaced television in Kamra. With past series like Hush Hush, Bambai Meri Jaan, and Gyaarah Gyaarah, she has made a name for herself in the online community; nonetheless, she admits that she has anxiety during the commercial breaks.

The debut of “Matka King,” a more ambitious series with a well-known director and cast, is a positive development as well as a recognition that excellent things sometimes take time.
