Kate Hudson: I’m a simpleton
Kate Hudson: Kate Hudson, who co-stars with Hugh Jackman in Craig Brewer’s musical drama Song Sung Blue, claims to be a “easy crier” and to cry at least once every other day.

Regarding her new project, which is based on the actual Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder, Hudson told people.com, “I cry every day ’cause every time Hugh and I start talking about the movie, we get so emotional.”
Hudson may be moved to tears with little effort.
She disclosed the cause, saying: “I weep really easily. I’m a simple crier. I could start sobbing just by looking at an Instagram picture. I will weep, especially when I see postings of children expressing something meaningful.
It’s likely that I shed a tear or two every two days. It’s always a wonderful thing to cry. Indeed, it is.
The celebrity claims that her brother Oliver Hudson, mother Goldie Hawn, and other family members are always aware of their emotions.
“Everyone is a crier,” she asserts.
“Our entire family, with the possible exception of Wyatt and Pa (Kurt Russell),” Hudson states. “We have a lot of emotion.”
Song Sung Blue tells the tale of Hudson’s Claire and Jackman’s Mike Sardinia, who founded Lightning & Thunder in 1989 as a tribute band to the “Sweet Caroline” singer, as their business partnership develops into a love one.
The costars spoke candidly about their partnership and heaped each other with praise at the 2025 Gotham Awards.
“His ability to connect with everyone, whether on stage or on set, is his superpower. Before speaking to Jackman next to her, Hudson said, “He just wants to connect, and he wants to make sure that everyone is happy.”
Simultaneously, I discovered that one of the best gifts you can offer someone is your genuine desire to connect with them, and I believe you give it to everyone.
In response, Jackman said, “Kate taught me a lot. I have worked on over fifty films, but working with Kate Hudson is a really tough thing to explain. There is a very delicate line between being prepared and simply being instinctual, and Kate Hudson is the best at it.
“Being with her… I think I became a better actor,” he said.
