Alan Cumming: According to Deadline, actor and filmmaker Alan Cumming will host the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) 2026.

The British awards presentation will be hosted by “The Traitors” presenter on February 22, 2026, in London’s Royal Festival Hall.

After presenting BAFTA’s TV awards last year, Cumming, who received an Olivier award for his portrayal in “Cabaret,” is being welcomed back into the organization.

According to Deadline, the “The Good Wife” star takes over for fellow Scottish actor David Tennant, who has presented the BAFTA Film Awards for the last two years.

“I am excited to bring some’mischief’ to the event,” Cumming stated. The executive director of awards and programming at BAFTA, Emma Baehr, praised his “sharp wit, warmth and vibrant energy.”

The publication claims that the first round of the Film Awards voting began on December 5. Nominations will be announced on January 27 after the longlists are revealed on January 9.

In the meanwhile, the next Marvel movie “Avengers: Doomsday” will see actor Alan Cumming reprise his role as Nightcrawler from X Men 2.

Cumming last portrayed the comic book character in X2: X-Men United in 2003.

In the next Avengers film, the actor will also rejoin with his co-stars, who include James Marsden (Cyclops), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), Ian McKellen (Magneto), and Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X).

The cast of Marvel Studios’ next movie “Avengers: Doomsday” has been unveiled. It includes both newbies from the “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” franchises and well-known members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

According to a Marvel Studios social media post, the cast is made up of Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), and Winston Duke (M’Baku).

The ensemble also includes performers from the forthcoming movie “Thunderbolts,” such as Wyatt Russell (US Agent), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), and Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier).

The movie will also include Channing Tatum, who was previously involved with a “Gambit” picture.With Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (The Invisible Woman), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing), and Joseph Quinn (The Human Torch) joining the cast, “The Fantastic Four” will also be included in the movie.

On May 1, 2026, “Avengers: Doomsday” will be released, and on May 7, 2027, “Avengers: Secret Wars,” the sequel.
