Nitish’s Act is defended by the Bihar Minority Affairs Minister

When the chief minister removed the hijab from a young woman’s face, he did so in a “fatherly” way, according to Bihar Minority Affairs Minister Zama Khan, who justified Nitish’s actions.

It’s possible that the CM is older than the woman’s father. When questioned about the event, Khan said, “I have a daughter, and I could sense the fatherly affection he had expressed.”

Rashtriya Janata Dal, the opposition party in Bihar, attacked Nitish, claiming he had entirely turned into a “Sanghi” (RSS member) and lost his mental equilibrium.

Slams from Mehbooba Mufti The Bihar chief minister was chastised by Mehbooba Nitish Kumar, head of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for removing a Muslim woman’s face cover at a government function. After the act, Mufti questioned Kumar’s ability to stay in government. As someone who knew and respected Nitishji, I was taken aback when he removed the naqaab of a young Muslim lady. Is it a result of aging or the acceptance of openly degrading Muslims? Mufti said in a post on X.

At the event, more than 1,000 AYUSH physicians received appointment letters; ten of them—including Nusrat Parveen, who was wearing a hijab—got theirs from Kumar at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Standing on an elevated stage, Nitish yelled, “What is this?” when she saw Nusrat Parveen and pulled the veil down to see her face.

Political rivals have been criticizing Kumar, the state’s longest-serving chief minister, claiming that his actions demonstrated his lack of mental stability and made him unsuitable to lead the state.
