Saugata Roy : Giriraj Singh and Gajendra Shekhawat confront TMC’s Saugata Roy after he was caught smoking on the grounds of Parliament. Watch
Saugata Roy : Party MP Saugata Roy was spotted smoking a cigarette on the grounds of Parliament a day after a significant issue broke out in the Lok Sabha over a TMC MP’s suspected e-cigarette usage in the House.

BJP MPs Giriraj Singh and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat challenged Roy, who was spotted carrying the lighted cigarette. Roy is heard justifying smoking by stating, “We can smoke outside, but not inside the building.”
He said this after BJP leaders voiced concerns over public health and the Parliament’s dignity. Roy was admonished by Shekhawat, “You are endangering public health, dada.”

As Roy retreated, Singh, however, took a lyrical jab. He said, “Even if Dada steals, he does it openly; even if he smokes cigarettes, he does it openly.”
Delhi: TMC MP Saugata Roy was accosted by Union Minister Giriraj Singh and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
“There is no allegation,” Roy informed the reporters in response to the event. Cigarettes are not allowed inside the House, however they are acceptable outside in the open area. The BJP rule is when Delhi’s pollution is at its worst. They need to concentrate on this rather than leveling such accusations.
During Question Hour on Thursday, Anurag Thakur, a BJP MP from Hamirpur, brought up the subject of e-cigarette smoking in the Lok Sabha, which was brought up by a TMC MP. After this, a furious argument between the opposition and treasury benches caused mayhem to break out.
Speaker Om Birla stepped in and promised action as the disturbance became more intense. Thakur had questioned the Speaker on whether smoking was permitted in the Lok Sabha. “E-cigarettes are prohibited nationwide. Have you given it permission to enter the house? Thakur inquired.
In response, Birla said, “No.” A TMC member has been “constantly smoking e-cigarettes in the House for the past several days,” the BJP MP continued. Birla remarked, “I would like to again request the members that the House rules and traditions have to be followed in order to contain the escalation.” I will take action if such a problem arises.
