Jaggery Tea: If you like tea, you’ve probably heard of tea prepared with jaggery. It is well-liked as a pleasant and healthful choice on chilly days or anytime. In addition to adding a natural sweetness to the tea, using jaggery instead of sugar is said to be beneficial for digestion. Jaggery tea, however, often curdles and loses its flavor. Steer clear of direct contact between jaggery and milk.

The combination of jaggery and heated milk is the primary ingredient in jaggery tea. When certain ingredients in jaggery interact with the proteins in milk, the milk splits. Jaggery should never be combined immediately with hot milk; instead, it should always be added last to prevent this.

Add the jaggery when?

Only when the tea is finished and the gas has been turned off should you add the jaggery. In a saucepan, first bring the water and tea powder to a boil. After the tea is well brewed, add milk as needed and continue boiling for an additional two minutes to get a pleasing color and flavor. Now switch off the gas. Once the gas has been turned off, pour the tea into a cup or let it cool somewhat. Then, add jaggery (or jaggery powder) to the cup and mix with a spoon.

Consider using tea that is organic.

Because it dissolves fast and is less prone to cause cracking owing to its strong acidity, use organic and less processed jaggery for tea, ideally a slightly yellowish, natural-looking powder. To avoid overheating and breaking when adding the jaggery, keep the heat at medium or low while boiling the milk and tea together.

Since jaggery tea is unrefined sugar derived from palm sap or sugarcane juice, it functions as a natural sweetener.
