Tirumala – TTD Announces VIP Break Darshan Suspension Dates Until September
Tirumala – The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has announced that VIP Break Darshan at the Sri Venkateswara Temple will not be available on selected dates from July to September 2026. The decision has been taken in view of major temple festivals, special rituals and the expected rise in pilgrim footfall during these religious occasions.
Restrictions linked to July temple observances
According to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, VIP Break Darshan will be suspended on July 14 for Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam. The facility will also remain unavailable on July 17, when Anivara Asthanam is scheduled to be observed.
Further restrictions have been announced for July 19 due to the Pedda Maryada ceremony for the Swamiji of Sri Andavan Ashramam. VIP Break Darshan will again be cancelled on July 29 for the Chaturmasya Sankalpam of the Tirumala Jeeyar Swamijis.
Temple authorities said the arrangements are intended to ensure that traditional ceremonies are conducted without disruption. The measures are also expected to help officials manage queues and provide better access for regular devotees visiting the shrine.
August dates announced for Pavitrotsavams
In August, the darshan facility will be unavailable on August 22 for Ankurarpanam, which marks the beginning of the Pavitrotsavams-related rituals. It will remain suspended on August 24 as well, when Pavitra Samarpana is to be held on the second day of the festival.
The temple body noted that festival-related rituals require detailed preparations and regulated movement within the temple premises. During such occasions, priority is given to the conduct of religious traditions and the management of the large number of devotees expected at Tirumala.
Brahmotsavams period to see extended suspension
The restrictions will continue in September, beginning with September 8, when Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will be conducted in preparation for the annual Srivari Brahmotsavams. VIP Break Darshan will also not be available on September 14 because of Ankurarpanam.
The most significant restriction will apply during the Srivari Brahmotsavams, scheduled from September 15 to September 23, 2026. VIP Break Darshan will remain fully suspended throughout the nine-day festival period.
Srivari Brahmotsavams is among the most important annual events at Tirumala and draws devotees from across India and abroad. The temple administration generally puts special crowd-control and operational arrangements in place during the festival to accommodate the large number of pilgrims arriving for darshan and processions.
Recommendation letters not accepted before restricted dates
The TTD has also issued directions concerning VIP recommendation letters. It said that recommendation letters will not be accepted on the day before each of the notified suspension dates. The only exception will be for Protocol Dignitaries, as per the temple administration’s guidelines.
Officials have asked devotees, including those planning VIP darshan, to check the notified dates before finalising their travel plans. Pilgrims have been requested to cooperate with temple staff and follow the arrangements made for the smooth conduct of rituals and darshan operations.
The administration said timely planning by visitors would help avoid inconvenience during the festival season, especially in September when Tirumala is expected to witness a substantial increase in pilgrim arrivals.
